Dear Lois Lowry,
I have recently read and finished your book, The Giver, and I enjoyed it very much. I have a few questions I would like to ask you relating to the book that I came up with while reading;
Where did the community come from?
Is it an invisible place set in the world today?
Why is the nature of release so terrible and sad?
Why is the rest of the community lied to?
I also enjoyed many things about your book. My favorite parts were when Jonas received good memories and when he finally made it to "elsewhere" and escaped the lies and wrong doings of his old community. I did not like the part where the little twin was released and when Jonas recieved bad memories, though. All in all though, I very much enjoyed your book.
